April 24 - Rediscovering the goodness of the gospel -- with a party! - Dr. Tim Dickau
Jesus was enacting a story line that could best be told with a party, and a party no less with the sort of guest list that blew away expectations. How is God enacting this story line through St. Andrew's, especially when it feels like our stories, personal and communal, have been interrupted and also come with a checkered history? Red Dress Day - May 5
Red dresses represent the more than 1000 missing Canadian Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people. Why red? An Indigenous friend explained that it is the only colour that spirits can see. It also represents lifeblood, and the gendered and racialized nature of violent crimes against Indigenous women. For more infomation visit:

Spring Hike - Come one, Come ALL!!!
We are planning a Spring Hike for Saturday June 18th. We will meet at the Ribbon Creek Day Use parking lot at 10:00am. The parking area is accessed off the Kananaskis Village turn off. For anyone with the AllTrails App (a great free app for hiking routes!) the hike is called Ribbon Creek, Kovach, and Terrace Loop. The hike is a 5.6 km loop and should be enjoyable for all ages. Since this is a Spring hike be prepared for wet conditions on the trail (hopefully not though!). Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash. We are excited to have Dr. Geoffrey Simmins joining to offer communion at a rest stop along the trail. For those wishing to unwind after our hike feel free to pack a lunch and meet up in the parking area afterwards. Please RSVP to lucy_aburto@shaw.ca so we have an idea of numbers attending. |

We are so grateful to Bill Judd and Ken Burrill for their leadership these past months on our ‘Words of Life’ Bible study of the 10 Commandments
Those who have participated in any study know how much extra time and effort leaders spend preparing each week. Bill and Ken have been faithful leaders in many of our study groups, and the number of people participating in their classes has grown due to the ‘dynamic duo’s’ thoughtful preparation and ability to engage group members in conversation. Our knowledge has grown, as have our friendships with the other participants in the studies. Thank you for providing opportunities for both!! |
