Sep 8, 2024 - Popped Ears! Sudden Hearing.Rev. Laurie McKay Have you ever struggled to open a jar when - pop! - the seal is released? Jesus pops open the hearing of a deaf man and heals a foreigner’s child in a split second. The pressure is building. Suffering surrounds us. Are we ready to have our ears pop?

Grateful/Thankful/Blessed
This fall, Don Koch is stepping down as Convenor of the Facilities Team after many years of faithful and diligent service on this team. We are grateful for Don’s time, energy, and commitment in keeping our facility in tip top shape ~ thank you, THANK YOU Don!!! We would also like to thank two people ~ Sean Pepper and Matt Nolette ~ who have stepped up to take on leadership roles in the Facilities Team this fall. If you see any of these 3 men on Sunday morning, give them a handshake and a ‘thanks’! We would also like to express our gratitude to all of the returning members of the Facilities Team as they start back this fall. Please support this hard working team as you are able throughout the coming year!! ~ Deb |

On Sunday, Sept 1 members of St. Andrew’s Rainbow team attended the Calgary Pride Parade
It was a joyful atmosphere of celebration and community, as messages such as “ love is love” and “be who you are” were shared by many diverse groups, from the Mayor and Council, to law firms, banks, and major corporations. We also were heartened to see many religious groups walking in the parade, including Red Deer Lake and McDougall United church, and a group from Knox Presbyterian Church. We walked away from the parade full of ideas and inspiration for our involvement in the Pride parade next year, as we continue to find ways to be over into the neighbourhood as we

How blessed are we to have so many opportunities to participate in our ‘Wider Community’?
We have a unique opportunity to be led in a Presbytery workshop here at St. Andrew’s on Monday, September 30th by this year’s Moderator of the PCC, Rev. Dr. Patricia Dutcher-Walls. Come and be part of this workshop as we think about: How might biblical stories in which HOPE is inspired for God’s people lay a foundation for our own stories of hope and possibility?
