This Sunday we hear the Transfiguration Story where the disciples are given a peak of who Jesus is--and there is glory!  As the curtain of ordinariness is drawn back they see a fuller mysterious reality revealed. What if the purpose of our lives is to pull back the veil of ordinariness and display through our everyday lives something of God’s glory to the world? What do “glorious” people look like? Hope you can join us this Sunday.

Sunday, February 27th will be the last Sunday Dr. Tim will be leading worship with us at St. Andrew’s.  As is our custom, we will be providing an opportunity for our faith family to contribute to a ‘purse’ (gift of money) that will be presented to Tim on behalf of the congregation.  If you would like to contribute, you can:
- Bring your money to the church (ring the bell at the back door please) - anytime between 9:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
- Contact Dolly in the church office (403-255-0001) to make arrangements for an e-transfer
- Place an envelope in the offering plates with “GIFT FOR TIM” on the envelope

You will find our team – the St. Andrew’s Striders - on the CNOY leader board when you click on the button below. Currently we’re near the bottom, but we won’t stay there for long!   To spice things up, Westminster Presbyterian Church has challenged us in a friendly competition for both our fundraising efforts and for numbers of participants.   If that’s not enough incentive, adults who raise $150 or more and youth (18 years and under) who raise $75 or more will receive a CNOY toque. 

On Saturday March 5th we plan to meet at 10:00 am in Kananaskis for a morning of XC skiing and fellowship.  We plan to ski a Beginner/ Green route, so all ages and skill levels are welcome.  The planned route is from Kananaskis Country Golf Course to Wedge Pond and back.  (** Depending on weather we may have to change the location **)  Dr. Geoffrey will lead us in a mid-ski communion.  If you don’t own your own XC skis, they are available for rent at Outlaws Sports, the University of Calgary and Kananaskis Village.  We will follow all government protocols for outdoor gatherings.

In June 2021 the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada passed two resolutions: 
1) to ordain LGBTQI ministers and ruling elders
2) to affirm both the traditional definition of marriage as “a covenant between a man and a woman” as well as marriage being a “covenant relationship between two adult persons.”

Our denomination (the Presbyterian Church in Canada) will affirm both the traditional definition “marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman" as well as marriage being a “covenant relationship between two adult persons”, and the ordination of LGBTQI ministers and ruling elders.

Each Session is required to work through these decisions. With your help, we want to provide generous space for you to prayerfully discern what these resolutions mean for St. Andrew's as we Grow Life Together With God.

Based on a true Calgary news story, The Bench is a family-friendly puppet show highlighting actions in our very own neighbourhood. Juanita Dawn has graciously given St. Andrew’s permission to “air” this pre-recorded/pre-pandemic performance of The Bench to raise funds for the Coldest Night of the Year.
