Epiphany 5: Brightening the Doorway - Deep-Water Miracles - Dr. TimFebruary 6, 2022 – 10:00 am Sunday Worship Service Simon Peter and his fishing mates had worked the back shift on the Sea of Galilee—but with absolutely nothing to show. When Jesus asks them to put out again into the deep water for a catch—they must have wondered what a carpenter’s son from the hill country would know about fishing. Simon hesitates—but then does as Jesus asks. And out in that deep water they caught so many fish that their nets were beginning to break.Like the disciples, we may hesitate when Jesus asks us to go into deep water—“if someone wrongs you, forgive;" "love your enemies;”--and wonder what Jesus knows about living in a 21century pandemic. But just maybe deep-water miracles can still happen… Hope you can join us this weekend.
To prepare for this week’s service, you can read Luke 5: 1-11 During Sunday Worship, here are activity sheets for all ages & stages: For more infomation visit: https://www.standrewscalgary.ca/pages/live-streaming-worship

The Wider Community
|
We have an opportunity to brighten the doorways of our neighbors to the south. If you feel moved to contribute, please remember your donation will be in US dollars. Read on to see how you can help. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. (John 1:5) As night fell on December 10, a horrific line of powerful tornadoes ripped across several US states, ending the lives of more than 100 people and wreaking devastation across many communities by the time morning had broken. One of these tornadoes was on the ground for a terrifying and unprecedented 250 miles, more than 200 of those miles in Kentucky alone, where the town of Mayfield saw the catastrophic destruction of much of the downtown area, including the Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist churches.
