Epiphany 3: Brightening the Doorway - Life-Giving Unity - Dr. TimJanuary 23, 2022 – 10:00 am Sunday Worship Service Sometimes we sing a song called, They’ll know we are Christians by our love. It begins, “We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord.” In this week’s reading Paul compares that kind of unity to the various parts of a human body—with all its very distinct and different parts that function together as a co-ordinated whole. But unity is not easy for us these days. And greater unity doesn’t just come from good feelings—unity comes from something deeper…
Join us this week to explore what that something deeper is...

Hospitality – The Ministry of Welcome
Throughout the next few weeks we will be considering the images and actions of “brightening the doorway” – our own doorways, whether those of St. Andrew’s or our homes, and the doorways of others. How appropriate, then, to revisit this article by John-Peter Smit, first published in May 2011. He writes about the Ministry of Welcome: How we do it and how we might do it better. While the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and related restrictions obviously affect some of the examples, the message still applies as we “brighten the doorways.”
