A lack of peace is taking a huge toll on us and on our relationships. Peace can seem even more elusive in these pandemic times. Join us on this second Sunday of Advent as we explore one of the most persistent themes of Scripture—peace. To prepare for Sunday’s worship, you can read

Looking for someone to wrap your presents or design your Christmas outfit? Let the youth group check them off your to do list!!
Just kidding, but the youth had fun on Friday night dressing their partner in Christmas wrap and watching them wiggle their way through a series of challenges.

This Advent we’d like to invite you to enjoy a new kind of Advent calendar, one that includes the significant stories of scripture along with some contemporary stories that connect with the important themes of Advent. In addition to these incredible stories, this calendar also includes simple crafts, new songs, outdoor adventures, special ways of caring for others, and fun games. Enjoy!

The Free Little Mitten Trees have now been be set up by the bus stop in front of St. Andrew's and at the three train stations located south of Fish Creek (Fish Creek, Shawnessy, and Somerset Bridlewood).  All are invited to take what they need and give what they can.  The trees will be up throughout the month of December.  You can place donation items on any of the trees, or bring donation items to the south door of the church. 

Evening of Fun and Games  
When:  Thursday, December 16th from 5-8pm 
Where: Schanks on MacLeod Trail 
Why:    To support the building of a new playground in Haysboro on South Haddon Rd.   Tickets are $20/family.  
Sliders, Tacos, or chicken fingers available for $3.00 each   This is a family friendly event - with games and prizes and a silent auction.   Come for dinner, come to play, come to have fun and support the new playground in our St. Andrew’s neighbourhood.   Speak with Fiona for details or tickets.   (swankinson@gmail.com)   

Parade of Lights
When:  Saturday, December 18th from 6-8 pm
Where:  Community of Haysboro - Maps available at Haysboro.org  
Come out and tour around Haysboro to see the Christmas light displays. End up at the Haysboro Community Hall for skating, s’mores and more!   The nativity display at St. Andrew’s is a “stop” on the map.   The Mission Team is providing hot chocolate and choir members will be carolling at the Community Centre!   Speak to Lori-ann Esser for more information (lesser@standrewscalgary.ca)
