Joy is Best Experienced in Community - Reverend Marion BarclayAugust 29, 2021 - 9:30 am Sunday Worship Service As part of our continuing Summer of Joy at St. Andrew’s, this week we consider that Joy is best experienced in the Community. Rev. Marion Barclay will be preaching via technology and members of St. Andrew’s Session will be joining her in leading worship this coming Sunday. As people who gather around Jesus Christ and seek to live lives in response to divine love and grace, abiding joy is an outcome of faithful living. The sermon for August 29th explores the connection between Jesus, the Living Word, and our experience in community with others that emboldens us to live joy-fully amidst the “mountain tops and mudpuddles” of daily life. Please join us for in-person worship at 9:30 Sunday morning (no need to register); or the link below will be updated Sunday morning by 9:00 am to take you to our live streamed service. A message of caution to those who may visit the church on Thursday, August 26thOur facilities team continues to be hard at work! We will be doing some paving repair in the east parking lot at church on Thursday morning (Tomorrow - Aug 26). If you are coming to visit the church office, please drive up the alley from Haddon Road and use the upper parking lot, instead of coming in from Heritage Drive. Much appreciated! If you have a white car, you may especially appreciate it!! |
A thank you to those who participated in, and helped facilitate, our "Coffee with the Preacher" zoom meetings which have now ended. With growing in-person attendance on Sunday mornings, Dr. Tim’s presence is needed at our door on Heritage Drive. "Zoom Coffee with the Preacher" is over for now. Already we have been seeing new people. Dr. Tim really enjoyed this fellowship time, and although we will no longer have Sunday morning Coffee with the Preacher zoom meetings, he looks toward some other potential connection points with our online worshippers. Pray for Afghanistan
Join us in praying for the people of Afghanistan given the rapidly changing security situation. PWS&D has a long history of support for relief and development programs in Afghanistan. For the last 20 years, we have responded to urgent food needs and supported girls’ education and maternal and child health projects to help improve livelihoods in the country. PWS&D is in regular contact with our partner with the hope that projects can still be implemented under these new conditions. Pray for safety and security for our partners, their staff and all those who are experiencing heightened anxiety because of recent developments. May God’s peace be with them all.
