Grateful/Thankful/Blessed
St. Andrew’s gives thanks for the Mission Team who have served St. Andrew’s these ‘past many years’. Although that team has now been disbanded, we want to acknowledge that the efforts of this team resulted in so many new ministries for us: St. Andrew’s becoming a Food Bank Depot; engaging with Claire House; The Edge after school program for junior high students, the work done with our Indigenous neighbours to name a few. As you have no doubt heard, we now have a new structure for our mission work at St. Andrew’s. Peter Coutts is our Coordinator of Ministries of Mission. Much of the work started by the ‘old’ Mission Team will continue. And we look forward to the new possibilities of mission work as, woven into the neighbourhood, we grow disciples who love like Jesus. ~ Deb |
Would you like to be part of a planning team for an exciting event? We have the place for you!!Join us on April 24th at 7 pm Peter Coutts and the team planning for our Indigenous Friendship Day in September this fall would love to see you Wednesday night, April 24th at 7:00 pm in the KE Lounge. There are many jobs to be accomplished by this team, and any support you can give would be gratefully accepted. And they’re a fun group - just join them to see!!! ~ Deb |
Oh, the things we take for granted!!!
Sunday, April 28th we will be taking some time in the service to have children gather up your ‘offerings’ for UNDIE SUNDAY ~ new underwear (Medium and Large for adults, any size for children), as well as diapers (any size) and Depends (any size). Although we may take having clean underwear to put on every morning for granted… not everyone does. Our emphasis that Sunday will be thinking outside of our own walls as we hear from CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society). St. Andrew’s very own team who support Claire House will also be taking part in Worship that day. So… if you are able, please bring some ‘undies for Undie Sunday’ to share. |
