Oct 1, 2023 - Communion - “How Much Is A Nickel Worth?”Rev. Peter Coutts So, if you saw a nickel on the sidewalk, would you bend down and pick it up? Or is its value just too small to bother? We can think the same way about small acts of kindness and generosity. Jesus turns that kind of thinking on its head in the story of the Widow’s Mite.

Grateful, Thankful, Blessed! What you do makes a difference ~ even while you were ‘on vacation’ Someone from the congregation asked me if I would write something to thank the choir for their commitment to lead the congregational singing even when they were ‘on summer vacation’. She said that it made SUCH a difference over the summer months to have the choir singing and leading each Sunday, and she was so very grateful for those voices. As we have said before, music is an important part of the ‘heart of St. Andrew’s’. So thank you, choir, for helping carry the beat (pun intended). ~ Deb |

October is depression and mental health awareness month. Be aware.

Cyclone Freddy struck Malawi in March 2023
Freddy wreaked havoc on the lives of countless Malawians, causing significant disruptions to daily activities, washing away essential food crops and destroying critical infrastructure, which led to widespread displacement. Six months later, families have returned to their homes, now in ruins, their harvests washed away, and the loss of their livestock making the difficulties they face even greater. PWS&D responded immediately with search and rescue efforts and to meet immediate needs. Six months later, PWS&D and partners at Canadian Foodgrains Bank are supporting a recovery project to aid families in getting back on their feet.
