Sunday, Feb 19 - The Heart of the Matter in LifeRev. Peter Sermon on the Mount #3: The teachings of Jesus we will explore today highlight how Jesus’ approach to the Jewish Law was so different from that of the Pharisees. We will begin with 1] a quick historical look at the development of the Jewish faith as it was lived in Jesus’ day, 2] how Jesus proposed a very different approach to the Law, and 3] how Christians adopted Jesus’ approach rather than the practice Jews have today. For Jesus – and for us – it is all a matter of “heart.”

February 22, 2023 @7:00 pm - Ash Wednesday: The Fast We Choose
Lent is not just about turning inwards to deepen our personal faith practices. Lent is also about turning outwards so that our faith helps build stronger communities. “The fast we choose,” as Isaiah memorably describes the call to remember others as well as ourselves, reminds us that during Lent we are called to open our hearts to God’s wounded ones so that the world can be healed. We go inward so that we are strengthened to go out into the world. |

Grateful/Thankful/Blessed - Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise!
Well, after Sunday’s service St. Andrew’s knows we have a happy choir - because on Sunday we ‘lived out’ James 5:13 as we sang, and sang, and sang. Many of you have expressed how joyful the service was. We indeed had a wonderful service ~ not only the spoken word through message and prayer, but the music itself spoke to so many. The congregation would like to give special thanks to Evan and the choir for their hard work and dedication to share ‘Light and Love’ with us. Psalm 100 says to ‘sing yourselves into God’s presence’. That we did. ~ Deb |
