Grateful/Thankful/Blessed
This Sunday is the beginning of the Advent season. Many faith communities around the world set aside this time to prepare our hearts, homes, and churches ~ for Christ’s birth. Whether this time is expressed through prayer, meaningful music, reading and reflection, or a myriad of other ways, may this season not ‘pass you by’ this year. Be thankful for the freedom we have to live out and share our Christian and family traditions. We are Christmas people. |

Hackers are still at it
Several people have let me know that they have received emails from ‘Rev. Peter’ asking for assistance or a phone call. Please remember that if Peter was reaching out to you, he would be more specific than ‘Have you got a sec?’ or ‘I need your help’. If you are in doubt, get in touch with the church office (office@standrewscalgary.ca), but more than likely these ‘cryptic’ emails are from hackers. Our advice: DELETE, AND DO NOT RESPOND.~ Debby |

Woven into the Neighbourhood – Next Steps in Pursuing Our Mission
You are probably wondering, “So what’s happening with our new direction to get woven into our immediate neighbourhood and help out?” Three weeks ago the city social worker for Kingsland held a gathering of people from different organizations who all want to help out in that neighbourhood. Present were the Principal of St. Augustine School, reps from three churches (including six from ours), the Kingsland Community Association as well as people from three agencies: Carya, the Trellis Society and CUPS. We learned more about the needs in this neighbourhood. Do you want to hear what they are? Are you considering jumping in to help us “learn our way forward” into our congregation’s mission? Would you like to help us figure out how we can start small towards making a difference for those who live around us? Join us after worship on Sunday December 4th for a one hour (max) meeting in Trinity Hall. Coffee, tea and a few goodies will be provided. Come help us figure out our next step! |
