You are a steward. “OK, what does that mean?” This is the first of two sermons on Jesus’ Parable of the Talents. This Sunday we will explore the story, dive into the definition of “steward” and tease out the implications for ourselves and our congregation.

Grateful/Thankful/Blessed - The faces of Faith Formation!

How we have missed seeing these faces! Zoom was wonderful when we couldn’t meet in person, but oh - my ~ last Sunday felt like a great big hug ~ seeing so many children and leaders at the front of the Sanctuary with those smiles and that energy!

FAMILY HIKE - Saturday, October 1st at 9:30 am

Please join us on Saturday, October 1st at 9:30 am for a family hike near Millarville. All ages are welcome! We will be hiking Brown Lowry Old Mill Loop - a 6 km, moderate, kid-friendly hike. We are pleased to have Rev. Geoffrey Simmons joining us to lead us in communion. Please contact Stephanie Werle at swerle@telus.net to register.

Side By Side

Side by Side provides participants (people who are living with dementia and their caregivers), a place of warmly welcoming fellowship and meaningful activity.
ONLINE: The Side by Side Online program currently meets on Zoom on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
Starting on September 26th, the online program will meet on Zoom on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
IN-PERSON: The in-person Side by Side program will re-start on September 28th.
It will take place in the Karl English Lounge on Wednesdays from 9:45 am to 2:15 pm. Anyone wanting to take part, either online on Mondays or in-person on Wednesdays, can contact Alice Post at sidebyside@standrewscalgary.ca, or call the office at 403-255-0001 to request a call back.

Our youth group is back! Friday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm

We are so excited to welcome our youth, ages Grade 6's and up, starting Friday September 23rd at 7pm!
We're going to kick off the year by doing a study series that we're super stoked to share with you!
Feel free to bring a friend, or two! The more, the merrier!
We've got a few plans up our sleeves and we'd love you all to join us!

This 13 week non denominational program offers grief support in terms of help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend.

Grief Share is a support group that meet weekly to share encouraging video presentations and discussions about the weekly video content.

Fall session begins Tuesday Oct 4 – Nov 22, 2022 ( 8 weeks )
Lower fireside lounge 1.30 pm – 3 pm.
The final 5 weeks begin Jan 31 – Feb 28 2023. ( 5 weeks )

We Have New Roommates At The Church

St Andrew's is now the meeting place for one of the largest AA groups in the city. This is one way we can pursue our mission to be "woven into the neighbourhood" and it is also a significant source of income. It is early days but so far things have been working out very well. For our St Andrew's folk, the only indication you might see that they are meeting here will likely be a few outdoor signs to direct their members how to enter the building.

Carl’s grandpa, Jim Vandrasco, died Saturday, September 10th. A memorial service will be held for him in Edmonton next week. We send Carl and Shona our sympathy and prayers.

We will be electing 6 new elders in January 2023

We ask our church family to start thinking about people who might join our Session to help lead our congregation.

Spice Up your Life

Women’s Fellowship Day is being held at Camp Kannawin Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 21 from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm. Who doesn’t need a little spice… and to hear about the health benefits of various spices and herbs… and to enjoy fellowship together? Registration is online via the Camp Website or by clicking the information button below.
