Sunday, August 14 - Growing in Faith: “For the Sake of Joy”Rev. Geoffrey We encountered the word “joy” last week when we were reminded that joy is what we are called to as people of faith. We encounter the same word again today: Jesus looks ahead beyond his suffering and death and anticipates the joy that will come. Faith gives us courage to act and grounds our lives with purpose. Faith helps us find strength when we feel weak. Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, helps us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.

ConnXions didn’t take the summer off! Neither did the ConnXions team!!
We are so very grateful to our ConnXions team: Lorna Andronikou (who helped get our latest edition completed and published while on vacation in Maui!!!); Judie Coleman, Barb English, and our newest ConnXions team member Lauren Nolette (Cole), who also contributed to getting our latest edition out the same week she was getting married!!! We have so many people on our teams who go ‘above and beyond’... and they do NOT go unnoticed. Thanks to this team for helping us stay connected to each other and St. Andrew’s!!

“Nice to see you - welcome!” ~ “Can I help you find a seat?”Easy-peasy. And welcoming… just what we’re called to be. Thank you to those who signed up last week to greet and/or usher. We still need help with the following: |
Our faith family offers prayers for God’s peace and comfort to the family and friends of Madge Clark, who passed away this week.

Can St. Andrew’s come out and play??South Haddon Road Playground Many of you may drive past this playground on your way to church (especially if you don’t want to be late because of the train)! It is right off Southland, past the City Yard. I have been chairing the committee to rebuild it and the build is finally happening!! August 18th and 19th are the dates for our playground build, and we are looking for volunteers to help build it on August 19th from 8:15-4:15. We also need donations of food or money for 2 snacks and lunch for 18 people, as well as some help with set up and take down. If you would like to make a donation of money, please write "South Haddon Road Playground" on your envelope, or mention what it is for if you reach out to the Treasurer. If anyone can help out, please let me know. Thanks! |
