Sunday, August 7 - Growing in Faith: Bearing FruitRev. Geoffrey During the month of August, while gardens are in full bloom and crops are ripening in farmers’ fields, our worship will focus on the theme of Growing in Faith. The Hebrew Scriptures tell us that when we remain faithful to God, we will become fruitful in many different ways. As Christians, we believe that living more closely with Gospel values will also make us more fruitful. As Brian J. Walsh puts it, “when people grow in gospel wisdom and understanding they lead lives worthy of Jesus, lives that bear fruit in every good work.” How can we ensure that we are growing in gospel wisdom so that our lives bear the best fruit possible?

The “R” words of summer
We are so grateful to our ministers, Rev. Peter and Rev. Geoffrey for their constant support, encouragement, and energy at St. Andrew’s. And we are grateful that they each get to spend some time this summer “R-ing”. A few great “R” words are refresh, rejuvenate, rest, relax, restore. Rev. Geoffrey had time off in July, and Rev. Peter has time now in August to do some of that R&R&R&R’ing. We hope that all of you get to enjoy some time this summer doing the same! |
Aloha ~ Bonjour ~ Hola ~ Buenos dias ~ Or… Hello! You don’t have to learn a new language. You just have to smile and say, ‘Hi! It’s so nice to see you!’ We want to be a welcoming community, and we need people who are willing to greet and usher on the following Sundays: |

Day trippers are invited to bring a picnic lunch and/or dinner and stay for games and a hike. Campers are responsible for their own food and drink. Cost for each family is $75.00. Firewood is provided. All ages and camping experience is welcome! Please contact Craig Murray at murraycraigjohn@gmail.com to book your spot! |

Can St. Andrew’s come out and play??South Haddon Road Playground Many of you may drive past this playground on your way to church (especially if you don’t want to be late because of the train)! It is right off Southland, past the City Yard. I have been chairing the committee to rebuild it and the build is finally happening!! August 18th and 19th are the dates for our playground build, and we are looking for volunteers to help build it on August 19th from 8:15-4:15. We also need donations of food or money for 2 snacks and lunch for 18 people, as well as some help with set up and take down. If you would like to make a donation of money, please write "South Haddon Road Playground" on your envelope, or mention what it is for if you reach out to the Treasurer. If anyone can help out, please let me know. Thanks! |
