Sunday, JULY 31 - Stories of Jacob - Hindsight is 20 / 20Rev. Peter As the stories of Jacob come to an end, we find him reflecting on his life experience. Through those reflections he came to a new appreciation of God, of himself and of his understanding of the story of his life. How often do we do that in our own lives? We will consider how reflecting on our own personal faith story can be a place for maturing in faith.

Can You Guess "Who"???
* A pillar of our faith community You guessed right!! Our very own JOHN YOUNG! This week on Friday, July 29th, John celebrates his 97th birthday. John is an example to all of us of someone who gets up each morning with the goal of helping and encouraging others. His work with the Boys Brigade in the early days was faithful and full of energy. His work today with Heritage Seniors is faithful and full of energy! And his work the many years between the Boys Brigade and Heritage Seniors here at St. Andrew’s was faithful and full of energy!! John, we are so grateful for the gifts you have shared, and continue to share, with your St. Andrew’s family. We are blessed, and ask God’s blessings upon you as you celebrate another year of service to God and others. HAPPY , HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! |

What can be accomplished when each person in our church family gives a little? A LOT!!
This week we delivered 40 bags of ‘essential everyday needs’ (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, socks, and so much more) to the Mustard Seed to distribute to those they serve. Monday night some of our families put together these bags after Inge Murray shared a story about God’s abundance in our lives. From the smiling faces of the children as they put their donations in the bins and boxes, and then helped fill these bags, the message that we are called to share what we have with others is one that is imprinted on their hearts, knowing they helped put this call into action. Thank you to ALL who heard the call and responded by providing items for these bags, and for helping us live into our mission: Woven into the Neighbourhood, Growing Disciples who Love like Jesus. |
Thanks "Just Do It" Group!
Thanks to all who have offered to help with the clean-up of the tennis courts with the JUST DO IT group. Unfortunately, the city has placed a chain on the entrance, indicating that they would prefer people to keep out of the area at this time. We will need to respect this. |
