St. Andrew's was officially enrolled in the Stephen Series on October 12, 2018 with seven trained Stephen Ministers. When the pandemic arrived in 2020 everything shut down. Due to Covid, we were unable to train new Stephen Ministers and over time, all the Stephen Ministers moved away, passed away or retired. Therefore, we can no longer offer this ministry. We do continue to send out Journeying through Grief booklets to those who have lost a loved one.
GriefShare, in some ways, has replaced Stephen Ministry. Whereas Stephen Ministry was one-on-one, GriefShare is a group ministry and is offered several times throughout the year.
