Grateful/Thankful/Blessed
This Christmas, one of St. Andrew’s themes focussed on shepherds and sheep. Every Sunday our offertory started out with these words: What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd I would bring a lamb. And the answer? What can I give him? I can give my heart. This Christmas season there were so many of you from our faith family who gave of your hearts. So many that I’m not going to mention any names, because to miss even one would hurt MY heart. So you KNOW who you are, and you know that it takes all of us to do the work that needs to be done. We are all woven together - whether in the neighborhood, in a team, in a group, with friends, with what may seem to you ‘a small way’ - but to others is a helpful and meaningful way. And together, we shared Christmas with those who needed a warm scarf, a new stuffie to snuggle, a bowl of soup, a kind word, a hug, a smile, a message of hope, peace, joy and love. Loving like Jesus. Bless you all for ALL you do! We couldn’t do it without you! |

ST. ANDREWS MALL MAVERICKS
Hello St. Andrews! Eaten too many goodies over Christmas and feeling like you need some exercise? We have the solution – join members of the Wellness team for a weekly mall walk. |
Angels Ministry
The many knit and crocheted angels we received were the perfect gift for those who came to our Surviving the Holiday event. Thank you for sharing your time and talent to create these darling angels. Because of your generosity we had a few extras so we were able to add some to the Christmas blessing stockings and share the angels with even more people in the congregation. Well done! |
Christmas Blessing Stockings
Thank you for carving out time in your busy Christmas schedule to help us deliver so many blessing stockings. We appreciate everyone who stopped by the stocking table on Sunday and picked up one or two or more stockings to deliver. We are so grateful for your support for the entire ministry project - from sewing or buying stockings, donating so many thoughtful items and finally delivering the treasure-filled stockings to those who can no longer worship with us in-person or who need a little joy added to their day. |
'Dear St Andrew's - Thank you, Thank you.'
The generosity of St Andrew's was on display again this year. In spite of what might have been a difficult year for just about everyone, you still managed to provide a welcome glimmer of good cheer for the folks at Claire House. An appeal for $3250 of Christmas gift giving was more than met with $4500 of givings so far - final tally still to be confirmed. With these funds we were able to give generously to each of 41 households, plus an extra amount for each of 28 children - a lovely gesture, especially in difficult times. And it promises to be a gift that will keep on giving as we use the extra to support on-going visiting and work with the residents of Claire House in this new year. Our ongoing presence and friendship is very much appreciated.

Living with Advanced Illness
The Living with Advanced Illness Centre is offering a free education series during the winter of 2025. Topics address real situations that people might encounter as they care for someone they love and make difficult decisions. On January 21, Dr. Tracey Powell will offer a program focusing on what family members (and close friends) can do when someone they love is contemplating Medical Assistance in Death (MAiD). If you are in this situation, know that you are not alone: resources and options are available to help support you.
