Mar 23, 2025 - Of Gardens and DesertsRev. Peter Coutts The very first chapter of the Bible, and the very last, are bookends, describing lush gardens in which God walks with people. We live in inbetween times, when our sense of God can feel more like a desert. Is the “garden” experience possible for us, here and now?

Grateful Thankful Blessed
At St. Andrew’s we are lucky to have so many people who made our St. Patrick’s TAKE 150 a fun event. To all the kids who came out to make rainbow coloured slime that stretched to reach a pot of gold, played leprechaun tag in the dark, challenged each other to "minute to win it" games and enjoyed rainbow jello! Our youth helpers are vital at this event, and we thank Annika, Josh, Ceana and Rennie for their leadership. We couldn’t do without Debbie and Paul and are grateful for all the fun themed food they provide, and for Rhonda, Shona and Craig for their decorating talents and help throughout the night. Thank you! May the sun shine warm upon your faces! |

Generosity from the Ladies Guild
The Ladies Guild generously gave donations this week: $5,000 for the general fund, $1000 to the scholarship fund, and $4000 to kickstart our fundraising efforts towards the parking lot project... yet to be named! How blessed we are to have dedicated women and men who create community opportunities like the Bazaar and Soup/Samosas, while raising funds that lift others up. For their generosity, we give heartfelt thanks!

FUNd Raising
Thanks to the Ladies Guild for their generous donation to kickstart our Fundraising efforts towards the parking lot project! Do you have a catchy phrase that might reflect the Reason for fundraising? As we heard at the Annual Congregational Meeting, we will be raising funds to ensure that water that lands or flows on our property, is absorbed within our land (through grading and having two rock pits at the lower end of the property) as well as increase our parking by 13 more spots. There will be a prize for the BEST NAME so please submit your suggestions to Cathy Millar at cathyamillar@gmail.com |

God was in the House!
Special thanks to all those who contributed to the annual report and great annual congregational meeting this year! Thank you to all who wrote committee reports and financials, those who created and distributed the information, and all who came fully prepared to listen, and engage - deep thanks. The ministry at St. Andrew's is celebrated at our annual meeting. The narrative budget was a helpful way to understand how our offering is put into action! We are invited to put the "fun" into "fundraising". We are changing how we see the annual meeting and report - rather than a burden and dreaded - to a "God-touched" moment. God is in the House! |
