April 13, 2025 - Symbols of the Palm/Passion StoryRev. Laurie McKay Excitement that Jesus enters Jerusalem is quickly soured by anger, jealousy, fear and failure. Christ receives it all with open eyes and a loving heart. This intergenerational service will help us celebrate Easter without denying that there are “hard bits” to get through. Some do not attend Maundy Thursday or Good Friday services and leap from the joy of the Palms to the joy of Easter. Palm/Passion Sunday reflects real life. God in Christ is in the joy and the sorrow. The children will offer symbols that anticipate the bumps in the road.

Are You Able to Provide a Gift Card for One of Our Post Secondary Students?
t is spring again already and time for the Faith Formation Team to arrange a wee gift for each of our post secondary students for their final set of exams this school year. We like to let our St. Andrew’s students know they are being thought of and that we hold them in our prayers. We are looking for families able to assist one student by purchasing a $25 gift card i.e. Tim Horton’s, Subway, Indigo, etc. You would mail the gift card with a caring message to a student, whose name and address will be provided to you. Our students are most grateful for the gift and encouragement! If you are able to help, please connect with Rhonda Wishart at Rhonda.wishart@icloud.com or 403-614-9924 to be provided the name and address of a student. |

Do You Want To Help Out Neighbourhood Families?
A resident at Claire House last week mused about how helpful it would be for families if a BIKE EXCHANGE was held in the neighbourhood. As kids grow, smaller bikes have to be replaced by bigger bikes. Could St. Andrew's host and facilitate a day where that can happen? Perhaps later this spring? If you think this is a cool idea to help families in Haysboro and Kingsland, and have a bit of time, we are looking for a few early volunteers to get the organization in place to do just that. If you'd like to be part of the planning team for this, please email Peter Coutts at peter@coutts.name or talk to him on Sunday! Or call 403.589.9081. |

As you read over our April/May 2025 ConnXions, please note the following correction:
Page 6 – Finance Team Report The 5th paragraph should read: Our congregation has an enviable record of meeting challenges and we believe this one will also be met. One example of how this is achievable is if our 200 core donors each gave an extra $1 per day (day, not week) for 2 years. For some, this is very doable and you might, in fact, be able to increase your gift to help out those who may find this too challenging.
