St. Andrew’s Facilities team has been looking forward to repainting the railings leading down the ramp the Trinity Hall, but when we found that the rust, and the many layers of paint, applied over the years, had to be removed, and the bare metal exposed before we could think of painting, were felt somewhat defeated. Then we found out about Eco-blast, which removes rust and old paint by sandblasting, and a deal was sealed, much less expensive than ordering new railings and getting them installed. On Monday morning, May 31st, Tom Sweeney arrived from Airdrie with his fancy rig, and after a long, sweaty day in a hazmat suit, we had our bare-bones railings. When we asked him to also do the bike racks at the front entrance, he was game, and he didn’t even charge us extra for them on the bill. How nice the meet a young man dedicated to his work and with a sense of personal ethics, respect and responsibility. If you are getting rusty (that’s a pun) look up Eco-Blast on the net and give Tom a call.
Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers!
